Happiness Centred... but Practical business - business that is focused on happiness, joy and profits!

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN DOING WHAT YOU DO AND HOW DID YOU GET TO BE AN EXPERT IN BUILDING HAPPINESS CENTRED BUSINESSES?

To answer this question, it's probably best that I share with you a defining moment and resulting story that brought me to where I am today, coaching people like you on exactly what they need to do to create a Happiness Centred Business -- a business where people matter!

That defining moment in my life happened in late 1998. After 25 years in the hospitality industry I found that "corporate life" made me miserable; I didn't enjoy the people, the money or the challenge any more.
 
After many sleepless nights pondering the problem, I reasoned that as I spent most of my waking hours at work, and realising that life isn't a rehearsal, I needed to change things and soon. So I took my first steps towards building my own business, and in a way that would bring me happiness, instead of stress, pain and frustration - including making more than enough money to live comfortably.

Since I could not find a system that would help me, I decided to use my knowledge and experience and to figure out a way to apply it to my professional needs. I immersed myself in absolutely everything that I had to do to build a Happiness Centred Business. I read every book on marketing, client attraction, building successful client relationships and many more that I could lay my hands on. I took every course that was available. I essentially decided to become an expert on how to build a Happiness Centred Business.

I developed systems, methods and techniques to build sales; retain business and increase referrals by developing and maintaining effective one-on-one relationships.

Lo and behold, in less than 9 months, I gained my first major client and then soon after another. More importantly both are still clients - they continue to be a great source of new business and are a joy to know and work with.

Today my clients are part of a small, very important and exclusive group.

During this process, I had an epiphany!  I realised that being the "Best" doesn't mean you'll have a successful or happy business. Clients care about more than just expertise.  They care about their "experience."  They want to feel special and important.  They want good service and responsiveness.  They want to feel valued.

Since then, I've worked with hundreds of private clients, spoken in front of countless groups, and have created the Happiness Equation℠, a programme based on five modules every business owner needs to follow to build a Happiness Centred Business, one client at a time.

WHAT TYPE OF CLIENTS DO YOU WORK WITH?

I specialize in working with small business owners, who have problems they can't find answers to or ideas they can't put into action. If that sounds like you, you're far from alone.  I work with people just like you every day - people who are great at what they do but are having a hard time getting the results they really want.

Most likely I have worked with people in your field. Yet, I have to share with you that if I haven't, you are not at a disadvantage, quite to the contrary.

What my current and former clients have found exceedingly helpful is that I bring a fresh perspective and insights to their business and give them resources they'd never experienced before. Because of this, they stand out in an overcrowded marketplace.

HOW ARE YOU DIFFERENT FROM OTHER BUSINESS COACHES?

More and more people are jumping on the bandwagon calling themselves "coaches." Many of these people have very little, and sometimes no training at all. Some of them don't even know that there is training involved!  It's just a term they like and have decided to use.

When you work with me, you're working with the real deal; someone who not only is an expert in business management, but is also a highly trained and very experienced business Coach and consultant.  You'll find the combination of the two very, VERY powerful in assuring your goals are met.

I graduated from CoachU the leading global academy for coach training. The Advanced Coaching Program meets the academic requirements for a Professional Certified Coach through the International Coach Federation. I am also a certified "My Own Business" Coach.  

I work with corporates with a growing speciality in small businesses. My passion and focus is  anything and everything that works for the small business owner.

Because my focus is very narrow, what you get with me is no-nonsense, undiluted expertise on what works for small businesses. I've simply become an expert at this stuff and that's why my clients get great results (and I throw in a healthy dose of compassion, humour and encouragement, which ALWAYS helps!).

FOR WHAT TYPE OF PEOPLE IS THIS PROGRAMME NOT GOING TO WORK?

Please know I'm very selective in who I work with and I cherry-pick my clients, choosing to (gently) turn away people who aren't suited for my programmes and won't get the results for which they would have signed up for. (It wouldn't be fair to them.)

The Happiness Equation℠ is NOT for those who are absolutely financially desperate. It's critical that making a financial commitment doesn't create additional pressure. If your income doesn't support one-on-one coaching at this time, that's perfectly ok!  I've been there too.

Finally, those who are "too busy" to commit to a regular coaching schedule won't realize the substantial benefits from working with me.  All my clients are busy people and sometimes, genuine emergencies happen and disrupt plans.  But if you aren't able to follow through on your commitments, whether it's keeping appointments with me or doing the work between coaching sessions, you won't get results you want.  If you aren't ready to commit to showing up and doing the work, then I respectfully request you not call - it'll just frustrate us both.

MODULE ONE: CREATING A CLIENT FOCUSED BUSINESS

MODULE THREE: KEEPING YOUR CLIENTS -- LITTLE THINGS MAKE A BIG DIFFERENCE

In this module we explore those little things, the simple actions that lead to significant payoffs in client satisfaction and sales. We provide you with time-tested techniques for dealing with people face-to-face and over the telephone, and we cover a variety of important communication skills that you can easily use every day at work.

MODULE FOUR: WHEN THE GOING GETS TOUGH

In this module you find out how to reduce the effects of stress when dealing with conflict situations and how to calm angry and upset clients. You'll also discover how to turn a complaint into a valuable business asset. To top it all off, this module contains a process that I've taught to many people just like you: how to turn difficult situations into win-win opportunities.
 
MODULE FIVE: WORKING IN A WIRED WORLD

In this module we explore the nitty-gritty of how you can use email and the Internet to better serve your clients and improve communication with your co-workers. We provide you with specific techniques and tools that make your e-mails effective and elegant and for designing a website that is web wise and client friendly. We will also explore Client Relationship Management (CRM) and give you ideas for using its principles in your business, small or smaller, so that it is a help and not a hindrance.

HOW DOES YOUR PROCESS WORK?
 
As with any successful relationship, the process begins with getting acquainted. The big difference is that, in our relationship, everything revolves around you. In order to assure your experience will be as meaningful and powerful as possible we'll start by assessing your needs.

First we'll meet on the phone. A call lasts about 30 minutes; there's no charge if it runs overtime. And there's no obligation to do anything more! It's just a chance for you to tell us about your situation and goals and to ask some questions. Then we'll tell you a little about how we work and what we do.

Together we will decide the best way to proceed. If you want to take the next, step we'll work out a programme with you, and then we'll roll up our sleeves and get to work.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE?

The length of a programme varies depending on the individual's needs and preferences. For certain types of focused programmes, 3 to 6 months of working with me may work. For other types of programmes, people may find it beneficial to work with me for a longer period. Factors that may impact the length of time include: the types of goals, the ways individuals or teams like to work, the frequency of meetings, and financial resources available to support the process.

WHAT ARE YOUR FEES?

Fees vary based upon individual needs and the programme selected. I know that sounds like sort of a non-answer, but it's true.
You can get e-mail support from me between our meetings or calls.  You can also call me for quick 5-10 minute "laser coaching" sessions between our scheduled meetings or calls if you feel the need.

I also send my clients information I come across that I think will be helpful to them.  I send them to Web sites that they will find helpful, and we link them to people who can help them in different areas if that need arises.  I have tons of contacts and resources to help our clients grow their businesses and we share them all the time.

Yes, I encourage you to! Please go to the Client Testimonials page and read all of them.
